It is with great passion and desire to help families in our surrounding area who are battling pediatric cancer that we are requesting you or your organization to help the foundation with its mission.
We are a 501C3 non-profit organization. Our tax exempt EIN is 300225-058. Our mission is to provide financial assistance to families in the greater Tampa Bay region when their child is in cancer treatment. In addition to the emotional devastation a pediatric cancer diagnosis has on a family is the financial burden they endure while they care for their child 24/7 during treatment. This foundation is committed to providing assistance to help supplement income loss and offset medical and other care-related expenses not covered by insurance. We are determined to make a difference in the Bay area communities by making an impact in the lives of families battling pediatric cancer. There are more children in cancer treatment than most people realize and these families are in need of help!
The financial burden can be enormous regardless of having health insurance and caring for a child in cancer treatment requires a 24/7 schedule which almost always results in income loss. Our program is unique because it offers reimbursement of expenses like medical co-payments and travel expenses related to treatment as well as assistance through the use of gift cards for necessities like food and household items. Each family receives up to $1,000 in assistance.
The Jessica Rose Foundation held its grand opening event on February 6th, 2010, which also marked the one-year anniversary of the passing of Jessica; she was six years old. Jessica battled a rare pediatric cancer called neuroblastoma (a cancer of the nerve cells) for two years.
